Cloned Taq DNA Polymerase is expressed and purified from E. coli that carries the Taq DNA Polymerase gene from Thermus aquaticus. Taq DNA polymerase is a thermostable enzyme that catalyzes the polymerization of nucleotides in the 5’-to-3’ direction at 70-74 ºC and exhibits a half-time of 30 minutes at 95 ºC. This enzyme possesses 5’-3' exonuclease activity but not 3'-5' exonuclease activity (proofreading activity). The amplified products are up to 5 kb with 3’ adenosine residues and able to use on TA cloning system directly.
